What is a Key Block

The Auto Shop Controller (ASC) Desktop Edition protects it's software with a key block which affixes to your computer. Upon startup of Auto Shop Controller Desktop Edition, it checks for the presence of this key block. If present, then you may use your software for an unlimited amout of time. You own your license, so please enjoy.

If your on a single station setup then the key block goes on the back of your computer.
If you're on a network, then place the key block on your most used computer. You don't need additional key blocks for each workstation.

Over the years we have had three different types of key blocks as seen below.

	Type 1) Distributed from 1999 to mid 2006 This "Parallel" key block attaches to your computers parallel port. Note: This style can also be blue.
	Type 2) Distributed from mid 2006 to early 2007 This"USB" key block must be inserted into any available USB port on your computer.
	Type 3) Distributed from early 2007 to present This "USB" key block must be inserted into any available USB port on your computer.
